Description: Lewis, Wyndham. The Art of Being Ruled. London: Chatto and Windus, 1926. Offered for sale is a copy of Wyndham Lewis's The Art of Being Ruled--in its first edition, the first printing, of 1926. This volume was withdrawn from a university library and retains the usual stamps, stickers, and paste-downs. The book was, at some point, re-backed, though the original cloth panel (somewhat torn) was retained and reapplied; the front hinge was also reinforced. There is a slight gap (dating perhaps to 1926) at the uppermost part of the rear hinge, but it poses no threat to the integrity of the volume. The first few leaves are v. slightly foxed. The interior is free of annotations, underscores, &c. The text-block took a knock, which damaged the front board, and has caused modest bending in the upper corners of the leaves. These defects notwithstanding, this remains a desirable copy. I invite you to make me an offer. The book will be posted, for *FREE*, by USPS Priority Mail. Buyers abroad will be served by eBay's International Shipping Program.
