Kalec, Company K, 23rd Engineers, 1st US Army, included are his named and unit stamped M-1910 Dog Tags, attached together with a short piece of shoelace, his WW1 French ‘VERDUN’ Medal, with original red presentation box and official paperwork awarding it to; ‘Private James G. Kalec, K Company, 23rd Engineers, U.S. First Army’, also included is his WW1 US Army Victory Medal with 2 Campaign bars, Meuse-Argonne and Defensive Sector, a 9x7”cabinet photograph, U.S. Army soldier in his overseas uniform with Engineer collar insignia. In WWII Major James Kalec served in the 3rd Photo Reconnaissance Group with the 8th Air Force, in the ETO 1942-43, and as the commanding officer in the US Army Air Force 6th Photo Reconnaissance Squadron in the CBI, China-Burna-India theater. Includes his USAAF medical flight card for both theaters, and his theater made three place uniform ribbon bar, ETO, CBI and American Theaters with Campaign Stars. Major James Kalec is buried at Arlington National Cemetery. USA.
