Description: Serbian WW1 Commemorative Medal for the War of 1914-1918. This medal is stunning court mounted Austrian style and is in bronze and is a near mint example w stunning details and high relief designs! Really a great piece of WW1 militaria! This medal was 1st awarded in 1920 ( as most ww1 medals), it was awarded by the Serbia government to all Veterans, Enlisted Men, NCO's and Officer of the Serbia & Allied Militaries who participated in the liberation of Serbia. In 1931 the French government authorized the wear of this decorate to all eligible French veterans who liberated Serbia! It is a very interesting medal w King Peter on the front side ( king of Serbia) & the dates 1914 and 1918. The back has the 2 headed Serbia eagle and 1915, 1916 & 1917. The medal is a cross w swords crossing through it! This is a very nice WW1 decoration and a hard to find example of a great medal! This example is in near mint w an excellent patina, extremely high detail and high relief motifs on the design! It is Austrian style court mounted and is near impossibly to upgrade! I believe at one point it might have been bar mounted! Thanks for looking please check out my other militaria & collectible offerings!
