Description: An original Harris and Ewing photograph submitted and signed by LtCol Randolph Coyle to the promotion board in 1919. This came from his file at some point after the photos were copied by staff. I found a while stack of about 200 of these over a decade ago. Officers were required to sign and submit a photo to Headquarters A&I before being screened for the next rank. Coyle was an early campaigner and part of the first Competitive Marksmanship teams for the Marines he had the first Nicaraguan Campaign Medal, Mexico (1914) Campaign Medal, and Haiti (1915) Campaign Medal. He also saw service in WWI aboard ship and was around for WW2 as well. Measures 4-1/2” x 6-3/4”. Has two punch holes where it was in a file.
