Description: Original WW1 (1918) German map full of operational markings from the opening days of the GERMAN SPRING OFFENSIVE.This map was produced as an overview for the Northern Sector of the German 2nd Army and bears a faint official stamp in the top margin which appears to show a date of 20th March 1918 - the day before the Spring Offensive began along this section of the frontline.The original owner has then added a series of alterations in red, blue and green pencils the gains of the opening few days, Divisional Boundaries and routes of advance.The place names of captured villages have been underlined in blue pencil as they fell to the rapidly advancing Germans.Locations covered include Cambrai, Bourlon Wood, Marcoing, Hermies, Peronne, Havrincourt, Gouzeaucourt.Moeuvres, Queant, Pronville, Inchy-en-Artois etcCondition is very good for a paper map of its age and clear field usage.Measures approximately 100cm x 75cm.Please see my other WW1 (and WW2) maps, documents, photos etc. POSTAGE - Will be sent using Royal Mail's Guaranteed Delivery by 1pm Service which will adequately cover the insurance cost of the item.
