Description: This is a rare February 10th, 1936 program (playbill) from the Pre-Broadway engagement of the AUSTIN STRONG comedy "THREE WISE FOOLS" at the Shubert Theatre in Boston, Massachusetts. (The revival would open March 1st, 1936 at the John Golden Theatre in New York City and close after only nine performances.) ..... The play starred WILLIAM GILLETTE in what would be his final Broadway stage appearance and featured JAMES KIRKWOOD, CHARLES COBURN, BRANDON TYNAN, ELIZABETH LOVE, JOHN BLAIR, WILLIAM POST, Jr., ISABEL IRVING, SYDNEY BOOTH, ISABEL IRVING, SCOTT MOORE, VICTOR COLTON, JOHN McKEE and ROBERT BURTON ..... CREDITS: Book by AUSTIN STRONG; Sets designed by WOODMAN THOMPSON; Costumes designed by HATTIE CARNEGIE; Staged by AUSTIN STRONG; Produced by JOHN GOLDEN ..... DETAILS: The four page playbill measures 8" X 11" inches, is printed on a light brown newsprint stock and includes full production credits, cast list, synopsis of scenes and wonderful vintage advertising, but no cast photos or bios ..... CONDITION: With the exception of light creasing, this playbill is in excellent condition and will make a wonderful addition to the collection of any theatre aficionado or historian. This item will be carefully packaged in a protective, carded sleeve and backed by stiff cardboard.
