Up for sale is truly RARE piece of Disney history! originally acquired from the estate of an avid film collector I have decided to finally part with one of my prized possessions, my 35mm print of Walt Disney's Song of the South. This full print is in great shape with excellent color and sound, defects are minimal and there are a few splices here and there throughout but there is nothing major missing, a very enjoyable watch from beginning to end, it was last viewed during an after hours private engagement at a theater in the Mall of Georgia before it went completely digital back in 2015. Housed in two cans the film reels have (to the best of my knowledge) always been stored in a proper environment, according to family members of the estate of the collector I acquired it from he got this print back in the 80's and just like me, it was one of his prized possessions so he took extra special care of it as well. Why am I selling this off now? I feel it's time to let this piece of history go and pass it along to someone else to cherish for many more years, I now have a pristine transfer of this movie to DVD I can watch and share with family and friends whenever I want with amazing custom DVD cover artwork and as the old adage goes "You Can't Take It With You" so it's time to let it go. I tried to post up as many pics as I could but I am limited on how many Ebay will allow, In the pics showing frames from the reels you can see it has great color, you will notice a checkerboard pattern on each one, that comes from me using my computer screen as a backdrop to view them with as I no longer have a projector.. just FYI if your wondering, also I am open to leasing this print out for private viewings for $1500 (arranged through Ebay via a private listing) I will bring the print to you, be present through the viewing and take it back with me after, YOU will need to make sure you have a proper working 35mm projector and will be responsible for any damage done to the film while viewing it, if interested contact me for more details. I do not smell any vinegar scent but full disclosure my wife claims she can smell a hint of it when she puts her nose up close.... I personally don't smell anything but she's the one with the "Bionic" nose so there is the possibility it has a faint vinegar scent to it. I have never seen a full 35mm print of this movie up for sale and given the rarity of it and the fact it hasn't been in distribution since the 80's I feel it is truly a RARE print to have and there cannot be very many of them left in existence.. my asking price for it reflects that because I feel that's what it should be worth given the rarity of it.
