Description: Today I am offering this fabulous vintage metal figure. It is richly detailed heavy, solid metal. I'm not sure if it is brass or bronze. It measures approximately 4" high, 2" wide from side to side across the front, and about 2" deep from front to back. It appears to be made from some type of bronze or brass metal alloy. However I am not certain how to distinguish between the two. My best guess is time-aged brass. It depicts the Hindu God Ganesha or Ganpati in the Nataraja dancing pose. Here, the lord is dancing joyously in imitation of his father, God Shiva, the king of dancers. It is traditional among Hindus to invoke Ganesha's blessings before the initiation of any new endeavor or when seeking to overcome obstacles in life; he is also the divinity associated with knowledge. It is in very good vintage pre-owned condition with no breaks, bends, or repairs. It has a naturally aged patina. I can't find any damage on it. I don't find a maker's hallmark anywhere on it either.
