Description: This piece is just beautiful! It features a chalkware cross, made to look like wood, nestled in a bed of straw flowers and tiny greens. The back is cardboard, with the paper behind the cross featuring a "moon burst" of light, coming from the cross. I didn't want to call it a starburst, as it is fainter than that. It really displays well. There is a note on the back, "Uncle Eddie Oct 9 1943". So if was from Uncle Eddie, maybe? Oct 9 was in the middle of US involvement in WWII. So, it's hard to say if this piece has any significance. October 9 was a Saturday. Whether it was a gift or a remembrance, it is beautiful. You won't be disappointed.
