This further interlocked with a 7 track Stereo Sound System. Viewers were enveloped in a screen image which thus annexes their entire field of vision, gives a sense of reality unmatched by the flat screen. thus coupled with a 7 channel stereo sound system gave a realism unmatched at the time by any other film projection process. Photographer Fred Waller, the first Cinerama movie, This Is Cinerama, was presented in New York City in 1952. It was soon presented in theaters across the country that leased the necessary equipment from the privately owned Cinerama, Inc. For 10 years Cinerama films were mainly travelogues, but in 1962 the first Cinerama story film, How the West Was Won, was released. It was a huge success.Cinerama was a popular film process, but its costs were prohibitive, and the original process was abandoned in the 1960s. A later version was also referred to as Cinerama but really was essentially a single-70mm projector projecting a film photographed in anamorphic process. This process later was used by PanaVision and most recently was used on the film the Hateful 8. The process is most recently referred to as Ultra Panavision 70.Payment is Due within 48 Hours of the end of the sale!
