Description: this is a lovely vintage oil painting depicting the ocean side of Cape Cod in Wellfleet, MA where the ocean surf can become somewhat rough even on mild summer days - the talented artist has done a great job in juxtaposing the multiple textures of the sandy cliff & beach area with its muted brown & beige colors against the gorgeous shades of blue & green of the waves coming into the beach - there are also wonderful contrasted colors with the off-white of the surf tops versus the blue-green of the waves below - to top it all off, the artist painted a pale blue summer sky with barely visible white wisps of clouds floating through the calm of the sky - the gray-brown log lying on the edge of the beach gives the viewer some perspective as to the dimensions of the overall picture - the painting measures 16" x 20" sight size, & is in very good vintage condition - it is well-enhanced by its vintage silvered wooden frame which measures 18" x 22" & is also in very good condition - the artist signed the painting in its lower right corner -
