Description: Vintage Miraculous Medal Hinged Purse Brooch. Very Unique. Gold-tone. Articulated. Miraculous Medal. The brooch measures almost 2.50" overall length. The purse is articulated, it hangs from a chain attached to the bottom of a metal ribbon. There is a small Miraculous Medal adhered to the front of the purse. The purse is embossed with a basket-weave pattern. The ribbon is embossed with a pattern of stems and star-flowers. The brooch has the original working pin. The overall condition of the hinged purse, the chain and the ribbon is excellent. The gold-tone metal on the hinged purse, the chain and the ribbon is in excellent condition. There is no metal rub-off or corrosion. The hinged purse opens/closes as intended. It remains closed unless opened by the wearer. The brooch is rather heavy, weighing 20.5 grams. The brooch is not signed, and I am not certain who designed it; but it appears to be well-made. With proper handling and storage, it could last for years to come.
