Description: Vintage Genuine Baltic Amber Large Bead Stretch Bracelet Up for auction is a vintage Baltic amber bracelet. It is made up of semi-round with flat back beads measuring roughly 7/8" x 1/2" x 2 1/2" across inside, roughly size 7 stretch and weighing 24.6g. The color is rich with some beads having inclusions. This bracelet and other amber that I have purchased came from an older women in her 70's that was born in Lithuania and lived there until the 50's. I am unsure if this bracelet has been restrung but the material is in great shape. The legend goes that the origins of Baltic amber comes from the Lithuanian legend Jurate, the queen of the sea. she feel in love with Kastytis, a fisherman. Her jealous father punished her by destroying her amber palace and changing her into sea foam. People believe that some of the pieces of her palace can still be found on the Baltic shore.
