This George Washington hobnail design resembles geometric flowers in an overall pattern. It has rounded end corners and is fringed on three sides. Martha's Choice-George chose the original of this bedspread for his bride. The original weave, was lost when textile machinery replaced skilled weavers. Bates Fabrics had recaptured this weaving art and former employees continue this tradition. Candlewick(terry loop) bedspreads like Martha's Choice are as popular as they were when introduced by Bates over 60 years ago. Taught by their parents and grandparents, the early craftsmen who designed and manufactured the famous Bates Fabrics Bedspread Line. They used the same skills to create this Colonial American reproduction featuring garlands and stylized flowers. The terry loops create a hand woven effect with luxurious knotted fringe on 3 sides and rounded corners on the bottom. Bedspreads 100% cotton. Pre-shrunk. Machine washable.
