Vintage 1970's 2-piece set unisex cotton dashiki DUTCH WAX BLOCK shirt + pants

Description: This vivid cotton set from Veritable Wax Block Print Company is the ultimate uniform for the 70's hippie! Technically a unisex ensemble, this 2-piece shirt & pants combo set comes in a medium weight woven cotton fabric, with elaborate Dutch style mock-wax block print. (Basically, the Dutch people were "inspired" by colorful and geometric African prints made with wax block prints. Although the print on this fabric wasn't technically made via wax block printing, it is referred to as such because of the style) The shirt is very tunic-like, with split front neckline, 3/4 length sleeves and wide cut. The neck, cuffs and slits at hem have been embellished with a dark blue, elaborate design embroidery. The pants feature a drawstring closure waist and working open fly, with a roomy hip cut, hidden hip pockets, and slightly shorter hem length. Both pieces are unlined, and without any labels, however there is a 'Veritable Wax Block Print Company' name at the selvedge edge of the fabric used -you can see this at the drawstring. Overall condition is excellent to near mint, with little to no signs of wear and absolutely no flaws to note! Please review photographs for full details.
