This is really Cool. You are looking at a Vintage 1930's Kay Kraft Recording King Style A Venetian Acoustic Guitar. This guitar says Recording King on the headstock but was made by Kay in the 1930's. This guitar has a lovely Venetian style body and I believe the model is a Style A. I've read that this particular design had something to do with the 1933 World's Fair, so it seems appropriate to date it to that time, as these were only made for a few years in the 1930s. The Guitar appears to be all original. Sound Hole Label is missing. Body: Double bound mandolin shaped body with spruce top and mahogany back and sides in sunburst finish. Top features beautiful floral artwork. Nickel trapeze tailpiece, Ebony bridge with ivoroid saddle and a bound sound hole.Neck: Soft āVā shaped mahogany neck with rosewood fingerboard, pearloid dot inlays and a 1 1/8ā nut. Headstock features pearloid overlay with Recording King logo, three nickel Grover tuners with ivoroid buttons and one Page tuner with an ivoroid button. Neck features a large wing nut on the inside of the body to adjust neck angle.Playability/Sound: The spruce top combined with the mahogany back and sides create a warm tone with a defined high end. The midrange is very pronounced and helps the guitar to cut through a mix. Neck is very comfortable and suitable for any playing style.Rare and Historic. 90+ years old. Plays and Sounds Great. A real Head Turner. Our luthier did a complete setup. He adjusted the neck angle. Action is spot on. Brand new strings were installed. Gig ready on Arrival! Nut Width: 1 11/16"Complete Package with Modern Chipboard Case Included! Due to CITES Treaty for Endangered Wood (Mahogany, Rosewood) We no longer ship out of the USA. Cosmetics: Very Good Condition. Keep in mind that this guitar is 90+ years old. There are scuffs, scratches, chips dings and dents on both sides of the body. Very cool wear marks from years of play. Case is NOT original. It is a chipboard case that is slightly larger. Approximately 2 inches. A few towels around the edges will keep it tight in the case. Overall, Very Good Condition. Very Authentic. Dripping with "Mojo". Look at the pictures closely. They will tell the story.Top 40 Guitars is a Veteran Owned Business. Thanks For Supporting Veterans!
