Signed in pencil lower right and signature stamp in woodblock. In good condition. Old frame label from Ohio. Ogata Korin (1658-1716) was a Japanese painter of the Rinpa school, born in Kyoto. His very original and distinctive style broke from tradition, favoring few and simple highly idealized forms rather than naturalism and convention.
