First Edition "The lecture discusses some of the meanings of experience, tradition and history and emphasizes the importance of the relationship between them. It examines what has happened in Quaker history when one is exalted at the expense of the others or an attempt is made to sever the connection. This leads on to a discussion of some of the problems facing the Society of Friends as it looks anew at its present structure, and the need is suggested for continuing search to discover the implications of the Quaker faith in social and international life in this age of questioning and re-assessment. Finally an approach is made to the basic events of the Christian faith in the light of our present situation and knowledge" [from the front flap] Book is in Very Good Condition: pages clean, tight, unmarked; yapp-edged paper wrappers, as is typical, creased at top and bottom and worn at both ends of the spine; back section soiled.
