Description: This listing is for an Antique Miniature Grandfather clock case, hand made by TOSTAIN in France. I believe it to be an Early 19th C piece. This Antique Miniature measures approximately 15” tall, of course that is without its clockworks. This French Figural Grandfather Clock Case is as much a work of art as it is a clock. It features a fantastic little painted floral details on a gilt (likely with real gold) panel design. Constructed with rapt attention to minute detail using mahogany, satin wood, and other fine specimens. The base features fantastically detailed miniature plaques made of gilt cast iron or gilt bronze featuring putti / cherubs in a marvelous neoclassical scene. This rare piece is absolutely Perfect for the Boudoir, shelf, Desk, Mantel and many other spaces. The design is excellent for many rooms and a large variety of styles of decor. It makes this an excellent item for your collection, one your friends definitely wont have! Clocks of this caliber clocks are hard to find these days- snag this one while it lasts! It is an excellent piece for collectors, gifting, display / decor, gifting, and more. It is in good condition, with no major damage. Obviously it needs the clockworks itself, but could be modified to take a number of various movements besides the original. Paint and metalworks are in excellent condition for age. Has some minor wear from age and typical use- see photos. This clock comes from a massive estate collection, and was extremely well cared for in a temperature controlled room.
