The image features an exterior nighttime shot of Alonzo (Lon Chaney), an armless knife-thrower in a circus, standing in the doorway of his wagon as he receives a visit from the beautiful Nanon (Joan Crawford), the daughter of the circus owner who also performs in his act with him. Printed during the 1960's or possibly earlier, this vintage restrike photograph was printed from the original negative, so it features extremely sharp detail and nice contrast.
