Description: It states, ‘Violent Streets’, but this is an original and very RARE Lobby Card Movie Poster for Michael Mann’s ‘Thief’. This is the film that started Michael Mann’s obsession with the criminal underworld and we’ve been reaping the benefits ever since. While 1995’s ‘Heat’ and it’s oddly necessary companion piece, ‘Collateral’ focus on both the cops and robbers, or the good guys bs the bad guys, thankfully ‘Thief’ focuses primarily on what society would call a bad guy, but in reality this more than professional safecracking extraordinaire played beautifully by the late great James Caan promotes honor among his thieves and just wants to start a family, live the normal life… This makes the local organized crime family, and a team of dirty cops think this thief is soft and vulnerable. They don’t retain nor listen to his honest early warning of “I am the last guy in the world that you want to f*ck with.” Boy do they all find out exactly what that he means, and his madman methodology of mayhem is more than impressive, it’s inspirational. Thief/Violent Streets (1981) Directed by Michael Mann (Last of the Mohicans, Miami Vice, The Insider, Collateral, Public Enemies, Manhunter, and Heat) Starring James Caan, Jim Belushi, Tuesday Weld, Robert Prosky, Willie Nelson, and the always amazing Dennis Farina (his first movie). The Paper This is a lobby card poster, where all the lobby cards are together on one sheet, not separate. The eight still frames the filmmakers/studio chose for this set of lobby cards features some of my favorite key moments. I know is collector’s see the word ‘rare’ and we mostly roll our eyes, but this sheet is truly hard to find as I couldn’t find another currently for sale online, anywhere. 33x48” Single/Sided Very Good Folded Condition (just minor edge wear, all concealed with framing)
