Description: The Beatles authentic signed Please Please Me album. A very desirable rare set of undedicated Beatles signatures obtained in Southampton England on the 20th of May 1963. A great piece of Beatles history! Complete signed Beatles albums with solid provenance are getting much harder to come by and much sought after especially undedicated ones in decent condition. I’ve seen some what I call “science projects”and they’ve sold for much more than I expected they would. This Please Please Me album was signed at the Gaumont Theatre during their spring tour with Roy Orbison. John, Paul and George’s signatures are really nice as you can see in the scans, there’s an ink skip in Ringo’s S in Starr, it’s really not that bad...I’m just being picky....Most sellers wouldn’t mention it. There are roughly 75 signed Please Please Me albums known to exist, most with serious condition issues, making this one very desirable.This is the record that started it all for The Beatles and a must have. It’s important to note that no restoration has been done to the album. Some collectors have these Beatlesautographed albums cleaned up by restoration experts and they do look remarkable afterwards, some collectors choose not to restore them and leave them as is, in its original state. I leave it up to whateverthe collector who acquires this album wants to do with it. Comes with a letter of provenance which reads: This record belonged to my mum, Pam Hazelwood, who passed away last years and it forms part of her estate. Mum went to secondary school in Eastleigh during the the late ’50’s/ early 60’s, where she became good friends with Freda Bromige (maiden name) and it was in the Gaumont in Southhampton in 1963 that mum saw The Beatles with Freda. Freda has verified to me by e-mail that Mum’s record was definitely signed at the Gaumont in Southampton. Signed Name withheld Date 4th November 2021 This Please Please Me comes with a PSA/ DNA Letter of Authenticity (see image). There is some creasing wear to the laminated cover and along the seams (see images) and some wear to the rear cover flaps and some aging with a upper left corner bump... though nothing that affects the autographs as you can see in the scans. The record has lots of hairlines and grades Good- and it comes with the original EMI inner sleeve is in pretty nice shape.This Black and Gold label first pressing record with Dick James credits, is a rarity in itself. According to Discogs a mere 1,500 Black and Gold mono records of with there early Stampers: Side One 1 - G / Side Two 1 - R) were pressed to signify the very first release, making them very rare and hard to find in any condition.
