Description: The Syracuse Ornamental Company (Syroco) wasan American manufacturing company based in Syracuse, New York that specialized in decorative wood carving. Founded in 1890 by Adolph Holstein, the company was known for its molded wood-pulp products that resembled hand-carving. Syroco wood was made to look expensive, even though it wasn't made with expensive materials or techniques. The products were pressed into compression molds, which solidified into shapes that resembled carved wood. They could then be painted and varnished to look like real wood. This is a rare find especially in the condition it is in. There is some damage that appears to have been repaired. Please see pictures for detail. The original sticker is still attached to the bottom. This was from an estate sale where many collectibles such as this were found all well taken care of. The stand is 7.5" Tall & 8.5" Wide.
