Description: Harvest Honey without the Stress Looking for a chemical-free way to harvest your honey? Use the triangle bee escape board between the honey supers and brood chambers of your beehive. This will allow your bees to leave the honey super (passing downward) and prevent them from returning until the board is removed. A safe, chemical-free beekeeping solution - makes harvesting honey simple!. The triangle maze design makes it easy for the bees to leave but difficult for them to return due to the nature of how bees navigate. After the escape board is installed, allow the bees to leave the super overnight (up to 24 hours) before harvesting the honey. Handcrafted by an Amish family who raises their own bees. Fits our 10-frame bee hives and components. Only prime and paint the outside, not the inside where the bees live. Helpful Hints for Honey Extraction: For best results, use the triangle escape board only when temperatures are cooler. (This is when bees are naturally looking to move to brood boxes.) When installing the escape board, make sure the triangle is facing the bottom of the hive (flat surface should be facing up). The board should be placed below the super you're removing. If you have multiple hives, you might consider getting an escape board for each hive, so you can harvest the honey all at the same time. We recommend wearing protective beekeeping gear when handling your hive. Even with the escape board in place, it's possible not all the bees will leave. (Note: The nurse bees will not leave if the brood is present). We don't recommend leaving this board on for more than 24 hours. Bees may find another way into the super if the board is left on longer. Overall Dimensions: 16-1/4"L x 20"W x 1-1/2"H Inner Dimensions: 14-1/2"L x 18-7/8"W Entrance: 2"OD Triangle: 12-7/8" x 11-1/8"
