Description: Please read entire description. Steinway 42" console piano. Unrestored condition. All keys DO play but the dampers are old and crusty (and "sizzle" when the key is released. Tuning pin torque is surprisingly decent (40 in/lbs). What bridges I can see with the lower frame panel removed look good. I have noted some pinblock/back post separation (see photo) that will eventually need to be addressed. There have been some previous soundboard "repairs" via screws and glue (the "blob it in" technique) that should be addressed during the recommended rebuild. I think the cabinet is Mahogany and has a very nice, figured grain. The finish is somewhat faded and flaking in a few places. There is a piece of veneer missing on the right front corner of the music shelf and some loose veneer that needs regluing. Hammers look very well used. This is an excellent candidate for restoration. I am in the process of converting much of my business to building custom digital pianos otherwise this is a restoration I would consider offering in my own store. This listing is local pickup only. I am not interested in arranging shipping of any kind but will gladly work with any shipper you hire to pick it up. I've been a full time piano technician 30+ years. I'm glad to answer any questions you have about this instrument.
