Description: STANLEY 102 CONVERSION PLANE TO A BEDROCK STYLE PLANE WHICH IS THE SIZE OF A NO.1 ITS A GREAT LOOKING LITTLE PLANE THAT WORKS GREAT. 5-1/8" long , 1-9/16" wide , cutter 1-1/4" wide work done Started with a Stanley 102 stripped the body then removed the thumb slot so the knob could sit down on the body. Body has several coats of finish applied to get a very thick coat which is baked on. Tote and knob are hand made both were given a thick coat of clear lacquer. The barrel nut on the top of the tote & knob are purely cosmetic. Tote and knob are held in place with a brass counter sunk screw coming up through the sole. The tote is also noticed on the toe which slides into the cutter rails this keeps the tote secure. The cutter was made from a larger vintage one that I down sized and reshaped then it was lapped and sharpened. Its extremely sharp and cut's superb shavings. The cap was made from a section of the sole off a Stanley no.4c type 11. I cut out a section behind the frog with the patent dates. I do not destroy good body's to make these parts this particular body had sever rust on the cheeks and sole. The tension screw comes from a Stanley 78. I do my best to repurpose vintage plane parts to make my conversions which gives every plane its own characteristics. This is a fully functioning plane that works great and has its own unique look.
