Description: A small but lovely little book that was probably intended for children, A Week In A Tent. It is typically victorian in genre- a short tale about a (seemingly well-to-do) family deciding to spend a week in the woods to escape the summer heat in Maine. The book is intact- there are 59 pages with a number of charming pen&ink style illustrations. No Author or Illustrator are named, just the publisher Dodd & Mead and the date of copyright 1875. The front inside page is inscribed "To Mabel Garrett, From Her Friend Mrs. R. Butler (the name could be different, but looks like Butler) Dec. 25th,/ '78." The outer size of the book is approx. 4"X6" and it's about 3/8" thick. There are small stains on a very few pages (see photos) but otherwise the little book is in very good condition for being close to 150 years old.
