Description: Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE If you are familiar with these magazines you know a lot of this, but for those that are not, here is some information: In 1964 the “Quarterly Skateboarder” magazine was published with four issues, Vol. 1, Nos. 1 thru 4. It ended publication in the fall of 1965. This listing does not include those very early mid-sixties issues. In the summer of 1975 (the start of the “Golden Age” of skateboarding), the iconic Skateboarder magazine started up publishing again. See my pics of each volume. It started with Vol.2, No. 1. This set has the following issues of Skateboarder in it’s main classic mid 70’s to early 80’s publishing era: -Vol. 2, Nos. 2 & 3 (missing Nos. 1, 4, 5, 6; Vol. 2 had 6 issues total) -Vol. 3, Nos. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 (Vol. 3 had 6 issues total so Vol. 3 is complete) -Vol. 4, Nos. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12 (Vol. 4 had 12 issues total so Vol. 4 is complete) -Vol. 5, Nos. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5*, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12 (Vol. 5 had 12 issues total so Vol. 5 is complete) -Vol. 6, Nos. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12 (Vol. 6 had 12 issues total so Vol. 6 is complete) *Vol. 5, No. 5 came with a large poster which is included, see pictures. So you get the above described 44 issues of Skateboarder Magazine, an almost complete set! Plus: In August of 1980, the Skateboarder magazine changed it’s name to “Skateboarder’s Action Now” and included additional extreme sports coverage. Issues of Action Now are very valuable as circulation was decreasing so fewer issues were printed. This set also includes ALL 19 issues of Action Now magazine ever published: -Vol. 7, Nos. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12 (Vol. 7 had 12 issues so Vol. 7 is complete) -Vol. 8, Nos. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 (Vol. 8 had 7 issues before stopping publication so Vol. 8 is complete) BONUS: “Skateboarder Posters” Published in 1977 by Skateboarder magazine, this is a set of 8 full color 17” x 22” posters (see pictures). These are in excellent condition with only a single tiny tack hole in each corner. These are extremely rare and usually in poor condition with tape, tears, etc. if you can find them. The paper has a sheen so my pictures have some light reflecting, but the actual posters are beautiful. Generally, if you see a reflected light in the pics of the magazines, it is a reflection in the photo and not a damaged cover. CONDITION: These 63 magazines have very little wear and have not been exposed to light over the years. There are a few very minor wrinkles that happened during original shipping and some very light wear from reading and some light yellowing due to age but generally they are as close to mint condition as you will find and can see in the pics. The magazine was mailed in a plastic cover up to Vol. 6, No. 6 in 1980. Then they started mailing them without a cover and they pasted the address labels directly on the cover. We hated this! All the address labels have been carefully removed but some issues have slightly visible glue lines from the address labels. See pics. You will not find a more carefully curated set of these magazines anywhere. You can find the missing issues with concentrated searching, if you want to fill in the very few “missing” ones. Hopefully these go to a good home and are continued to be taken care of and enjoyed as much as I have. They weigh about 45lbs. total, thus shipping cost is commensurate with their weight and shipping insurance. They will be mailed via USPS Insured or Fedex Insured. Thank you!
