Description: First time up for auction is this Amazing Schreiner of New York domed jelly belly egg brooch. The silver tone brooch measures 2 1/8" x 1 5/8" and 1 1/2" deep. The pin is prong set with a row of colorless chaton rhinestones that are closed back and a row of square cut open back rhinestones with gold foil backings. All original and is in Excellent vintage condition. The Lucite ice egg is colorless/clear. The pin has an oval signature plaque that is cut in half and set in upside down, one half of the plaque of each side to help hold the Lucite cabochon in place. It is an Ambros design produced by Schreiner mid 1960's to 70's. This piece can be seen on page 114 of Schreiner, Masters of Costume Jewelry by Carole Tanenbaum. This pin is much nicer in person! A very RARE addition for a collector!
