The untitled view shows three boys playing baseball on the lawn in front of a large neo classical style academy building. The note in the margin mentions the boys room and marks it with an x. This is the Smithville Seminary building, perhaps best known as the Lapham Institute, located in North Scituate, Rhode Island. A printed version of this view was also published in postcard format, entitled Pentecostal Collegiate Institute, formerly The Lapham Institute, North Scituate, R.I. (see Wikipedia page). The postcard is in good condition with light wear and soiling. Note the light rubbing at the corners. The photograph exhibits good tonal range and shows good or better detail. A nice early North Scituate RI view!
