There is a small nick to the left hand side of the front board illustration and a little fox spotting to side edges and first few & last pages. Binding firm & sturdy. Context: A classic title in the genre of supernatural horror which outsold "Dracula" for many years. Of the two Fisher Unwin variants, this is perhaps the most desirable given that it features a new different front cover design in colour (the other one simply features the frontispiece again in black and white). Later issues by Fisher Unwin omitted the four full page plates. This copy is in very pleasing condition.
