Description: Ray Charles Genius + Soul = Jazz LP in strong VG+ condition on the Impulse label up for sale. Play tested, and graded on playback. It sounds fantastic! Jacket has light scribble in pen on the back cover (See photo)... plus some very minor wear on the jacket. The dead wax area is marked A2, and has the initials RGV which probably indicates the recording was done in Rudy Van Gelder's New Jersey studio. Quincy Jones was the main arranger for most songs, with Ralph Burns handling a few tracks!Big Band includes many members of the Basie band, "Snooky" Young, Thad Jones, Clark Terry, Freddy Green, Urbie Green and Roy Haynes among others. Many of these guys were already or became leaders in their own right in the years to come! The album is a joy to listen to in such great condition, and the Magic of Mono makes it all the better!
