Description: This listing is for a FABULOUS Mt. Washington CROWN MILANO Art Glass cracker jar. Made by Consolidated Glass Co. Last two photos show dimensions. The silver-plated collar has an embossed decorative rim attached to the body of the cracker jar. The handle is unusual with an elaborate design and the hinges operate smoothly. The domed lid fits correctly and has its own decorated handle with a circular engraved band around the center interior. There is no damage or repair on the silver plated collar, handle or lid. The body of the cracker jar is the opaque opal glass that Mt. Washington is known for. It is beautifully diamond quilted circa 1865-1880 mother of pearl satin glass has a distinctive surface finish with integral or indented design. Velvet matte (satin) finish achieved through treatment of hydro-flouric acid. The body of the cracker jar is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or repairs. The silver plated pieces are also in excellent condition reflecting only minor signs of normal wear.
