Description: This is a 1995/6 Pleasant Company Girl of Today Number 10 doll. Pleasant Company came out with 20 dolls in 1995 with different head molds, skin tones, eye and hair colors. Number 10 has the hard to find dark brown hair with green eyes. She is always on the hard to find American Girl dolls list. The 1995 and 1996 dolls have this head mold and very bare face paint. Mattel buys Pleasant Company in 1998. They complete the ownership in 2000. As soon as they bought the company they began making mold changes. The faces and bodies got thinner. The faces got more color. Mattel made many changes over the years with this line including changes to the wigs and the elimination of some dolls and the addition of new ones. This early number 10 is is excellent condition. Her hair is soft and shiny. She holds a pose. She is wearing the Recital Outfit from 1996. It was only sold for 3 years. The outfit consists of the skirt, jacket, blouse, tights, shoes, and headband. The Accessory sold to compliment the outfit is the Violin and Stand. It has the wood violin, bow, rosin, case, practice book and music book still in the plastic wrap, and stand.
