Description: PHOTOGRAPHIC VIEWS OF WINDSOR CASTLE & ENVIRONS CIRCA 1900 BOOK This auction is for a book titled “Photographic Views of Windsor” that was photographed and printed by Valentine & Sons Ltd. of Dundee for Ernest Marshall - Bookseller, Stationer, Printer company of 2 Castle Hill, Windsor (England). The introductory page is followed by 14 black & white photographs on heavier paper that include Windsor Castle from the Thames, the Home Park and the East Terrace & Gardens. Interior views show the Throne Room, Waterloo Chamber, Grand Reception Room, Presence Chamber, St. George’s Chapel - Choir East, Albert Memorial Chapel, Princess Charlotte’s Monument and a statue of Victoria and Albert. Outside scenes show The Long Walk, statue of George III, the Quadrangle of Eton College, the Cascade - Virginia Water and Stoke Poges Church. The book ‘s boards, over time, have separated along with the introductory page that is still legible but without a date. The photograph pages are still bound with slight toning, staining and soiling, primarily, in the margins. Also, two small paper surface abrasions are in the left margin of Eton College. The book was probably a tourist guide for Windsor Castle and a souvenir purchase. The book is in fair to poor condition, however, the images inside are still clear (SEE IMAGES FOR ITEM’S DETAILS).
