Batteries are not included. I tested it and it does work, BUT the motor is kind of loud. I'm not sure if it was always that loud, but yeah, I figured I should mention it. Also, the fur around the bottom of the figure could use some glue touch ups in a few spots. There are no signs of battery corrosion
