Eckhart lederwarenfabrik ulm donau is best known for making pistol holsters. Stamped on the inside middle pouch ‘Z (‘H’? illegible) AK’ possibly IR 23 or IR 123, possibly indicating the infantry unit, but hard to read. The pouches may have seen postwar use, as it is heavily riveted and one replace strap and one repair uses the type of green leather used by Finland, but the Germans are also known for riveting repairs on these types of pouches. One unrepaired corner torn. Initials ‘V A’ or V and upside down V scratched on top of the middle pouch. In good condition for its age, leather still pliable. Kept in smoke free pet free home.
