Description: This is a blue Nintendo DS with Loopy's newest DS capture card (that now captures digital audio), Bluetooth controller support, GBAccelerator DS, remappable X and Y buttons, and increased brightness control. Link to software and drivers for the capture card provided after purchase (or find it "3dscapture"). Capture Card: This DS has Loopy's newest DS capture card that now captures digital audio. The installation is different from the usual. Instead of cutting a new hole for the USB-C port on the capture board, it's removed and placed where the original charge port was with a 3D printed shroud to fill in the gap. This leads to an overall cleaner look compared to some of the other self installers. It functions all the same, and you can still charge the DS via the USB-C port. The USB C port supports USB PD, so you can charge the DS using nearly any USB-C cable that you have. Bluetooth Controller Support: This DS can connect to Bluetooth controllers, but only while connected to a USB power source ( while charging and/or capturing). All controller buttons are 1-to-1 with the DS if your controller has it. The left analog stick is linked to the dpad. ZL and ZR are extensions of L and R, respectively. Any other buttons or axes are not functional. You are able to remap any functioning controller button to any DS button, and it supports macros and button combinations. Ex. If your controller doesn't have a Select button, you can map Select to Start + R. You can also map multiple DS buttons to a single controller button. Ex. You can map L + R + Start + Select on the DS to a singular button for faster/easier soft resets. Best used with SNES style controllers. Controller compatability is generally first-party Bluetooth controllers, including NSO SNES controller, sideways Joy-Con, sideways Wiimote, DualShock 4, Switch Pro Controller, Wii U Pro Controller, Xbox Series X/S Bluetooth controllers, and some Bluetooth 8bitdo controllers. It's not an exhaustive list. There is a button under the battery cover (shown in the last image) that you need to press whenever you want to pair a different controller. A small screwdriver will be included. GBAccelerator DS: The GBAccelerator DS allows you to speed up or slow down the clock speed in the game you are playing. Press Select + L to slow down, and Select + R to speed up. There are 4 total modes. 1. Slow. 2. Normal. 3. Fast. 4. Really fast. Really fast is disabled but you can re-enable it by holding L + R + Select until the green LED on the DS blinks rapidly. This should work with most official cartridges. Unofficial cartridges are hit or miss, but mine did work. Also, note that slow mode does not work with the capture card software. It doesn't crash it, so when you go back to normal, it will show up again. This is true for every DS with this mod and capture card, and I can't guarantee that it will ever be fixed. There's an alternative button mode where you can require all 3 buttons (L + R + Select) to be pressed to cycle through each mode, but it will cycle in order from slowest to fastest. Hold those 3 buttons for 10 seconds (or until the second rapid blink) to change between this mode and the other. Kyogre Plate: Rare cover plate for the original DS. I bought it new and it is still in good condition. Goes perfectly with the blue DS. X and Y buttons: The DS also supports remapping the X and Y buttons to any other button, with or without turbo. This is meant for GBA games where the X and Y buttons are left non functioning. Usage is simple: Hold either X or Y + Select[turbo] or Start + the desired button. Example: Pressing X + Select + B will set X to act as B with turbo. Pressing Y + Start + A will set Y to act as A as a normal press. Start and Select are used as functions here, so there's two button combinations to set X and Y to Start and Select respectively, one with turbo and one without. Mainly to mimic how the 3DS VC Pokemon titles remap those buttons to mimic how the DS and 3DS Pokemon titles' button mappings are set. Once a button is set, you can't remap it again until you erase it. L + R + Down + B to erase. It will erase the mappings for both buttons. It can be useful in some DS games like Mario Kart DS: if you're used to using Y to accelerate like in the newer games, you can map Y to A. Pressing Y will still change the bottom screen, but you can change it by touching the touch screen as well. This feature also works with the Bluetooth controller mod. These are separate modifications that can work together. Just keep in mind, only the DS X and Y buttons can turbo press. If you change your button layout via the Bluetooth controller mod to something like L = X, and then on this mod, set X to turbo press A, pressing L on your controller will turbo press A (and if in a DS game, X will be pressed while L is held). Brightness Control: This DS has a CPU-20 motherboard, so the firmware has been flashed to allow for brightness control. This also allows the DS to have 4 different brightness settings. 1. Dimmest. 2. Dim. 3. Bright. 4. Brightest. You can change it just like you would on a DS Lite, including games that let you change it in-game. You do lose the ability to fully turn off the backlight, though. #3 is about the same as a standard DS, but #4 does make a huge difference that it is now my preferred way to play on the DS. Condition: The DS is used, but in good condition. Most of the scratches are on the front plate, but it's covered by the Kyogre plate. There are some marks on the corners inside, which is common on a lot of used DSes. The buttons are quieter than most of the DSes I've come across. The screens are in good condition with no dead or stuck pixels. There may be some dust specs in-between the top screen lens, digitizer(touch screen part), and the screens themselves. Speakers still sound good. It is noticeably heavier (but not heavy) than other DSes due to the number of mods inside. No game is included. A black aftermarket stylus is included. Comes with either a USB C to C cable or a USB C to A cable. Let me know which one you want after purchase. While the price set isn't required to have signature confirmation, this will ship with signature confirmation regardless unless you specifically ask me not to.
