Description: Mid Century Modern 1970s Lucite Chess Set Charles Hollis Jones One half of the pieces have clear bases and the other half have frosted bases. Base of the chess board is 17 x 17 inches and is 1/2" thick all around. The Cover is 16 x 16 inches Measures 6 1/2" tall with the cover on. Silver colored board squares are made of what appears to be brushed aluminum. The black squares are possibly a plastic (Lucite or Plexiglas?) Tallest piece is 3 5/8" Three pieces have visible glue around the edge. This could be fixed if desired. Not readily noticeable. They are two of the clear pieces (see pictures 7 & 8) and one of the frosted pieces (see picture 9) Other than the glue on the three pieces, this chess set is in excellent condition.
