Description: Vintage Catholic Holy Card :Mary, Queen of Heaven The Blessed Virgin Mary, her head crowned with 12 stars and rays of light emanating from her hands.She is standing on a globe with a crushed snake beneath her feet ( which represents Satan defeated ). Made by W. H. Lithograph Co., New York, 19432 3/8" x 4 1/8" This holy card was a gift from a nun ( Mother Bernadine ) to a student at a Catholic high school in the 1948-1949 school year. On the back, hand-written : January, '49 Mother Bernadine St. Patrick's High Sophomore, 1948-1949( with flourishes ) As this is from "Mother" Bernadine (rather than "Sister"), we can assume that she was Mother Superior of a group of Nuns at St. Patrick's High School. A little general wear, which appears to be from the card having been handled.(presumably from being handled by the former owner when saying prayers , etc.) Carefully packed for shipment to the buyer.
