Description: If you’re considering this unit, read and look at EVERYTHING. This is listed as parts because although it is working, it does have its issues & could use work. I initially got this unit and opened it up to clean it. I have flushed & lubed all pots & switches. I went through the inside and got some dust out & then cleaned the exterior. Outer case has been oiled. After it was cleaned & dried out I put this unit on a variac & slowly warmed it up to not slam the capacitors. As with all the other Marantz units I’ve worked with, I’ve quite impressed. Solid sound and it has the looks. Given that, I’ve noticed a small constant crackle out of the right channel at times. In short, the right channel is typically solid but it has minor issues at times. Missing the two back feet. Power cord has tape around it. The faceplate & case have been cleaned but still shows signs of age. Some of the knobs have some scratching. Some other signs of age here & there around the whole unit. The case has some missing chunks (including around one of the screw mounting areas on the bottom). Mostly all of the lighting is out, except for the input selector lights. Multipath button will not click down. I could pull a station on AM but could not get anything on FM. All tone controls work. Most of my testing was done through the aux input & the sound was great, just as you would expect through a Marantz. To be extremely nit-picky, I could hear a very slight crackle out of the right channel only noticeable within extremely detailed listening— not sure if it’s showing it’s signs of age or if it’s just a hint of stuff still in the pots. Headphone input worked well. I think this is a solid unit, especially if you’re wanting to fix it up a little more to get a perfect unit. Nevertheless, it’s decent as it is. Make sure you’ve read everything and looked at ALL the photos. As with ALL vintage units, it’s going to need service at some point so please make sure you understand that.
