Description: Independent Controller Repair ServicesI am an independent repair technician based in Mississippi. I replace the joysticks in first-party controllers with new TMR hall-effect joysticks, this listing is for the Xbox Series X and S controllers! I work on other controllers as well! Check my page for any of the controllers below:~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Xbox Series X/SNintendo Switch Joy-Cons/Switch LiteNintendo Switch Pro Controller... plans for Xbox Elite Series 2 coming soon!~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ This listing IS NOT for the Xbox Elite Series 1 or 2 controllers. Due to the magnets on the detachable thumb-sticks, it causes lots of issues with the magnets in the hall-effect sensors since they are so close. I'm currently testing a few solutions. Please note, the new joysticks WILL NOT COME WITH NEW THUMBSTICK CAPS. The ORIGINAL CAPS WILL BE USED, UNLESS REQUESTED OTHERWISE FOR AN ADDITIONAL FEE.In addition to joystick replacements, I can also repair other issues with your controller or modify it upon request—such as adding LED buttons and sticks, back paddles, "hair" click triggers, etc. Pricing for these additional services will be discussed on a case-by-case basis. How This Service WorksWhen you purchase this listing:I will send you my address so you can mail your controller to me.The price of this listing covers the replacement of both joysticks with TMR hall-effect joysticks, and return shipping cost to send your controller back to you. Please Note: The buyer is responsible for the cost of shipping the controller to me initially. What Are TMR Hall-Effect Joysticks, and Should You Switch to Them? The joysticks I install use a new technology of hall-effect using TMR, specifically the K-Silver brand of joysticks. In fancy I currently do not install Gulikit joysticks due to the price and availability in the USA. TMR (Tunneling Magnetoresistance) Hall-effect joysticks are, for all intents and purposes, immune to stick drift.Unlike standard potentiometers found in most big-name console controllers (PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo), hall-effect sensors rely on a magnet and a logic board to detect movement. Current controllers use potentiometers that depend on copper wipers rotating on a resistive pad. Over time, these components wear out, causing the dreaded "stick drift" issue. --- HALL-EFFECT DISCLAIMER ---While hall-effect joysticks are effectively immune to stick drift, since the signal sent to the controller from the joystick relies on magnets instead of mechanical wipers and resistive pads, very slight jitter may be present. That being said, with the new TMR technology implemented with the K-Silver joysticks I use, the jitter is almost unnoticeable. What makes TMR joysticks stand out from traditional Hall-effect joysticks is their ability to resist other magnetic fields as well as their low power consumption, theoretically increasing battery life slightly. This is demonstrated most clearly with the Xbox Series controller, where the left trigger includes a rumble motor with a magnet that causes interference with the left joystick when pressed down. In practice with my own controllers, the interference is almost slim to none with the TMR joysticks. The circularity of these joysticks is usually around 6-8%, which is right where an ideal joystick range should be. The original potentiometer joysticks usually have around 11-12% error, so the new TMR hall effect joysticks are technically an upgrade from the originals. The K-Silver TMR joysticks, from my experience, also feel very similar to the original Alps joysticks that most controllers use. Turnaround TimeMost of the waiting time will be the shipping process. You can generally expect your controller to be shipped back 1-3 days after I receive it. If something is going to affect this, like adding additional controller modifications or personal delays, it will be discussed beforehand or I will notify you of any delays as soon as possible. Thank You!Thank you for checking out my listing! If you have any questions, feel free to reach out, and I’ll be happy to assist you.
