Text description beneath the picture (subject to any spelling errors due to the OCR program used) LYDSTEP NATURAL ARCH, TENBY,Tenby owes its rise to Flemish immigrants in the twelfth century, but its modern popularity is due to the beautiful scenery and sands, combined with a climate like that of North Devon. From the Castle Hill a fine view over Carmarthenshire is obtained: of the castle little beyond the keep remains. On the way towards Pembroke by the coast is Lydstep, a village about two and a half miles from Tenby, a spot celebrated for its splendid rock caverns. These can only be visited at certain states of the tide, which are always detailed in the local papers. Their pictorial effect depends much upon the light; but if this is favourable the fine natural arch, here shown, presents a scene of entrancing beauty. The rock scenery in the neighbourhood is also very fine.
