Lovely Vintage Rookwood Art Deco Cabinet Vase "XXX" 1930 #2888 Robin's-Egg Blue

Description: Featured in this auction is a gorgeous cabinet vase made by Rookwood Pottery. The vase is in excellent condition with no chips, no cracks, no crazing and no repairs. This piece is just over 6" tall, 3" wide at the body, and 1-1/2" wide at the mouth. The base of the pottery is stamped with the Rookwood Pottery flame mark, the shape number 2888 and the production year XXX (1930). This piece is also stamped with Rookwood's "50th Anniversary" mark, and stilt marks are visible. The vase has an art-deco design with a tapered, cylindrical shape that features stylized Aztec imagery encircling the top half of the vase. The underglaze is a gorgeous matte robin's-egg blue or turquoise color with a dusty rose or light pink overspray that has curdled beautifully on the vase. There is some very light peppering and tiny pinholes in the glaze. Inside, there is evidence of light mineral staining from gentle use.
