Description: DEADMAN is the all-time, quintessential fan-favorite character. The concept, the costume, the mingling of the super-hero and supernatural worlds. And unquestionably a character who was blessed (despite being murdered in his first appearance) with a host of some of comics’ greatest creative talents. Here is a decades-spanning collection of some of Boston Brand’s greatest stories. From 1985: The Deadman Baxter series, reprinting Deadman’s first appearances - including his origin and epic search for the Hook, his mysterious killer - which were published in Strange Adventures, Brave and Bold, and Detective Comics between 1967 and 1969. Printed on Baxter paper with new covers by Neal Adams, the art work was noticeably brighter and crisper than what the regular newsstand comics offered at the time. From 1974: “Deadman’s Bluff” from Phantom Stranger #33. From 1978: The Phantom Stranger and Deadman appear together again in an extra-length story from DC Super-Stars #18. The duo face the dark sorcery of Tala. From 1984: All four issues of a new Deadman mini-series written by Andrew Helfer and drawn by José Luis Garcia-Lopez. From 1989: The Prestige format two-parter “Love After Death” by Mike Baron and Kelley Jones. Deadman gets a new look and a new lover (no, it’s not Ghost - but wouldn’t that make a cool series?). From 1992: "Exorcism" - another two-part Prestige format novel by Baron and Jones. More macabre suspense! And from 2001: Dead Again. In this five-issue series, Deadman encounters some of DC’s greatest heroes at the moment they cross over: the Flash (Barry Allen), Robin (Jason Todd), Superman, Green Lantern (Hal Jordan), and the Spectre (Jordan again). The creators on these must-have comics include Neal Adams, Carmine Infantino, Arnold Drake, Jack Miller, Mike Baron, Kelley Jones, Bob Haney, Steve Vance, Leonard Kirk, Kevin Nowlan, Rick Burchett, Jim Aparo, Mark D. Bright, Andrew Helfer, José Luis Garcia-Lopez, Mike Grell, and more.Your comics will bagged, 2-3 books per bag, and shipped with care. These comics have not been professionally graded. And very small sections at the edges of the cover to DC Super-Stars #18 have been torn off. Please see photos.
