Historic GEORGE WASHINGTON Hotel - Manhattan New York, NY First opened in 1928. At different times it was used as a brothel and as a boot legging house during prohibition. Over the years the building has been occupied by many famous writers, musicians and poets. In the 90’s it was leased for educational housing and regular tenants. In 2016 it was bought by an investment firm and and developed back into a hotel known as the Freehand/New York In 2019 the Hotel was placed on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places. Hotel ONODAGA - Syracuse, NY Opened in 1910 at the corner of South Warren & East Jefferson Streets the 11 story hotel had 500 rooms. At that time making it the largest hotel outside of New York . By the 40’s it had 3 famous dining spots ( one roof top restaurant ) and a barbershop. It was Demolished in 1970 to build an office building in its place. The hotel’s first registered guest was vaudeville star Lee Dockstander. Famous visitors- Theodore and Franklin Delano Roosevelt, Amelia Earhart and Babe Ruth.
