Description: Hi all! This is a Large Beautiful Fossil Tooth from a Three Toed Horse from Venice Beach, Florida! As their name suggests, Three Toed Horses are horses with three toes on each foot. These primitive horses first appeared about 34 million years ago and were substantially smaller than modern horses, only being about the size of sheep. They would eventually evolve into modern horses growing larger and losing two toes on each foot with the remaining toe becoming a large hoof. This particular horse tooth is between 13.3 and 1.8 Million years old. The tooth measures 1.52 inches (3.86 cm) with zero repair or restoration!
