Description: This 7 ½ inch tall doll is jointed at the shoulders with a stiff neck and painted one strap black shoes and blue painted socks. He/She has molded and painted facial features and blonde hair. The doll is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, or repairs except for a small piece missing on inside of right leg opening at hip. This may have occurred when the doll was originally fired. Please see photo for further information. As this area is inside the leg joint, it is not openly visible. The detailed modeling is wonderful with individually delineated fingers, a belly button, and dimples at the knees. There are no markings on this doll but I believe it would have been manufactured in Germany in the late 19th or early 20th century. This mold is often attributed to Kestner but, without any markings, I am not positive about the maker. The future owner could easily dress this doll or leave the doll nude to show off his/her cute chubby body.
