Description: This is a new Joseph Joseph steamer basket that is made out of hard plastic and silicone. It measures approximately 11" in diameter when it is opened up and 5.25" when closed. The silicone top is a really great feature because it can "seal" the top so steam stays in the basket for a more even steaming of vegetables or whatever you choose. It also stays cool to the touch for when you remove the basket from the pot. The silicone spindle "feet" keep it from scratching or damaging non-stick pots. Very useful kitchen gadget.
