About the watch & condition: Here we have a stunning Jaeger LeCoultre Memovox GT ref. E861. I believe this watch is dated 1970/71 and was dubbed the watch for the man who lives a fast paced life! Around this time period Jaegar LeCoultre sponsored many racing type events including the Wembley Speedway. This watch in particular has “Wembley Speedway 19th June 1971” which coincides with a race that took place, this could’ve been given as a prize or just engraved to remember the occasion it’s impossible to know however in 1973 the world champion at the time Ivan Mauger was given the latest Memovox by Jaegar LeCoultre as told in the official programme magazine for the event in 1973. It’s entirely possible this was also presented as a gift in 1971. More details below; The watch has a beautiful dial with the inner ring which rotates round to set the alarm. This is controlled by the upper right crown. It’s it exceptional condition, there’s some minor patina but nothing major whatsoever. The crystal is slightly worn with a few little cracks round the outer edge but other than this is nice & clean. Can easily be swapped out! It’s housed in a nice oval shaped stainless steel case with the two crowns on the right. There’s some light scratching which you’d expect of any pre owned vintage watch but nothing major whatsoever. Both crowns & their features working absolutely fine with no issues. They aren’t the original JLC branded crowns though, this is quite common on these as often they’re so worn down over the years. The watch is sat on a nice leather strap which will fit a wrist sized 8 inches. These came on either a bracelet or a leather strap with the JLC buckle, this one in particular is just a standard leather strap but works fine. You could easily swap this out to something slightly higher quality. This is an automatic watch meaning it runs off the movement of your wrist. The watch has a small power reserve however if left for a period of time it will have likely stopped. This is just for the watch, there’s no box or papers unfortunately.
